Vucic had some interesting commentary on choosing Rafale over Chinese or Russian fighter aircraft. Apparently transportation for potentially offensive armament is difficult through NATO territory. J-10 is an excellent fighter from tech specs standpoint but there is almost no chance of it getting delivered to Serbia.

It is becoming readily apparent why the Y-20s were packing flares/chaff when deliviery FK-3 to Serbia...

It is interesting that Egypt picked J10C over F16V. Supposedly F16V is superior, according to some pundits and I am not sure how they reached that judgment.

Egypt is not allowed long-range missiles, and everything on their American aircrafts has to be inferior to Israeli weapons. Same applies to all Arab states, and all types of Western weapons. The only exceptions are the Egyptian Storm Shadow with range reduced to 300km, and Qatar with the MBDA Meteor.

Recent informal interview with J-10A/S pilots in South East China revealed that they participated in intercepts of F-18E close to the mouth of the Pearl River during the decade after they switched to J-10 in 2005. Both pilots and ground crew loved the plane for its ease of maintenance and high sortie rate as well as excellent high speed performance and maneuverability during the intercepts.

某年国庆节前X天，东南某歼-10部队接上级通报：华盛顿号航母即将通过巴士海峡抵近我东南沿海。该部奉命取消所有人员休假进一等，以数个双机小组进行战备值班，随时升空前出应对。

详情不叙，结果是该部成功拒止华盛顿号舰载机对珠江口两岸（含香港）的抵近挑衅和侦察。这只是该部自2005年接装歼-10后的日常之一。而我是在此之后10余年到该部采访时获知上述事情的。

从该部飞行员和地勤的反馈可知，大家对歼-10A/S很是喜爱，因为可维护性好，出勤率高，与外机对峙以及执行驱离任务时体现了良好的机动性、高速性，比如在对阵F/A-18E/F时。

Not this happened quite a while ago. Unit in question has switched to using J-16.
