Doesn’t matter. Short range missiles are launched off guide rails instead of dropped. If the hard point is below the belly then it is just asking for the airflow to get choked.
It seems that CAC once imagined carrying A2A missiles on the chin, but apparently they gave up.
That’s PL-11, a semi-active medium range missile that’s dropped off the hard point.
The photo was taken in 1987 before China imported Aspide, so the missile is more likely to be PL-4, also a derivative of Sparrow.
