True, but 2 BVRAAMs just seems, insufficient, and there are a lot of combat strategies you would not be able to or want to use if you only had two BVRAAMs as opposed to 4. But then again, two PL15s probably wipes the floor with 4 PL12s.

Speaking of which, has there ever been any photos of PL15s on dual racks?

Pilot in question was going up against a pair of J-16s. I think they were carrying PL-15.

Pretty sure PAF showcased that when/soon after they received the J-10CPs. I can't seem to find any definitive evidence of PLAAF doing that although there are some low-res-af pictures that may have been dual-rack PL-15. They're happy enough to use and publicize carrying PL-12s on dual racks tho.

yeah that's the "low-res-af picture" I was talking about. I just couldn't be sure if those are actual PL-15s in the aerial shot due to the resolution, and the pic taken on the ground definitely are not PL-15s. With no official statement on the exact type of missiles I figured it's better to play safe and not see that one picture as evidence.

Do anyone know if J-10C has a bandpass/frequency selective surface radome like Eurofighter Typhoon?, or does it go traditional route with transparent radome like Rafale and F-16?

Since transparent dome is mentioned here, could anyone enlighten me on how is stealth supposed to work when incoming radar signal would hit your own radar which is a gigantic reflector?

Bandpass radome and orientation of radar, which is tilted up.
No matter how radar is orientated it won't be in stealth optimal shape and there won't be any RAM on it. So does that mean it would need a radome that only allow a very specific frequency and/or band to pass? And if so could that also potentially be exploited by enemy if they acquire such information?
