J-10 Thread IV

America sets fires all over the world and suffers blowback and unintended consequences all the time. That’s not a role model you want to emulate!

China has never backed down from any of its red lines, but it’s wise enough to know you can’t fight everyone all the time over everything, nor would you want to.

Iran is a classic case in point. It is nowhere near America. It is only important to America because America chose to make it so. And they can unmake it so just as easily by simply walking away. What are the Iranians going to do? Invade America?

OTOH that is Saudi Arab and Israel’s neighbourhood you just set on fire, and they don’t have the option to simply walk away like the Americans. And now two previously friendly countries are your sworn enemy and you did minimal damage to America. Great job!
america cannot walk away from Iran, if america doesn't want to walk away from Israel. Iran opens the door for China to become a major player in the middle east. this may antagonize israel and saudi arabia, well the world is a strange place, america is certainly the principal muslim oppressor, but most in the arabic world see it as an ally. a China doesn't cross anyone is a China no one cares.

I am tired of this kind of "strategic reasoning", it's cowardice in play with Chinese characteristics. the US meddles relentlessly in China's core interests from south china sea to taiwan, China stays clear, miles away from anything might remotely be americas interest.
Realistically, the US still has the upper hand. That is why it is wiser for China to play it's cards smartly. Remember Sun Tzu?

The politics is China has decent to good relationship with Iran, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and other Arab nations. It doesn't want to step on anyone's toes there and definitely doesn't want to firmly be standing on any side within the complex conflicts that's been developing for a long time. J-10 sales to Iran will definitely at least get on the wrong side of Saudi Arabia and Israel but China's sold Iran older anti-ship cruise missiles in the past which can be used offensively. J-10 sale and only 36 can be considered only a slight upgrade to Iranian airforce while it is currently aging much faster than the Typhoon equipped Saudis and F-35 equipped Israelis. Only 36 J-10C are hardly a threat I suppose so could be considered given a pass. Iran wants to improve its airforce and if not buying from itself then it has but Russia and China as potential sources.

This might have to go to the exports thread, however nothing has been confirmed, it is just rumours at the moment. Mods, please move this post if neccessary.

Please dont shoot the messenger, I am just relaying new information...

Chinese options are FC-1 and J10C (J-10CE?). IMO Iran might consider the FC-1 due to its connection to Pakistan, maybe to draw closer to them?

^^ This might be the sticking point. China has good relations with Israel and the other Arab States, I dont know how they will react when they realise that China is actively arming Iran. Tough job for the Chinese diplomats

Or what about this beauty quote:

“China doesn’t have an obligation to give Iran free arms. Indeed, Beijing needs to consider what the US and Israel would think if Beijing offered Tehran a cheaper arms deal.”

Who says anything about FREE deal? Which idiot thinks that Bartering is a FREE deal? Who does Minnie interview for this barter article?

Also, this idiot says China should consider US feelings or Israeli feelings. Does US consider Chinese feelings when selling to Taiwan arms? What trash people that Minnie interview?

ok guys ... enough discussion on Minnie Chan's BS again, already way too much discussion on Iran and if now it continues with politics I'll delete all these posts.

The topic is the J-10, not the US politics, not Iran and also not China's export.

End of THIS debate HERE in THIS thread.

Three sharp images of J-10C and J-10TVC to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC's aviation industry.

Supposedly they started using J-10A/S (C?) in Siping, Jilin.

But if not again faked, two digit numbers with in the 2x2x pattern are from the Shijiazhuang FA - and here the 2nd Training Brigade at Yongji. This unit was so far flying J-7B/JJ-7A.

May I ask why this is connected / related to Siping? Siping would be the 31st Air Brigade, a JH-7A unit with 64x2x serial numbers.

I am not sure. Maybe the images are only for illustration purposes?
