It had 48 missiles which is equal to the 48 on the DDG 52C

this FFG could be on par or even better than the 52C in AAW and ASW
The DDG 52C has the better SSM suit though.. the MBDA Teseo (Otomat) Mark 3 only has a range of 55 km..

The ships looks as if has slightly inferior air defnece than the 52c, as the aster 30 only has a range of 100km as opposed to the hq-9's 120km.

But the mu-90 is definitly superior to the yu-7. The 52c really needs some better torpedos.

I doubt it, PAAMS is a far more developed system than whatever China has. Aster 30/15 combination is probably better than HQ-9 in terms of intercepting sea-skimming missiles. HQ-9's range is probably 150 KM, so it will be able to hit fighters before they are within the range needed to launch Harpoons. I'd be interested in seeing how the radar on 052C compare to the radar for Aster series. I suppose it won't be as capable. The NH-90 helicopter is better than Ka-28, that's for sure. It looks like the propulsion on 052C might be fighter. Of course, the SSM capability should be far greater. A frigate like this would be called a destroyer in PLAN.

I think this is suppose to be Type-45 DDG with no offense SSM weapons but ment for anti-air warfare only.

Not to start a fight or anything, but can you back up that statement? A 55km Asm cannot out-do a 280+km asm, regardless of how you look at it.

this will endanger the ship.
if it face one on one with another ship which has asm in longer range
wat can they do?
just wait enemy to fire asm n defence with paams?
if enemy fire 4 or 6 asm wat can it do?
this is huge disadvantage

But do remember, those 55+km SSMs are fired with superior electronical meassurements against likely opponents that have no means of destroying them on air, where the less its own air defence can drop everything you send against it...

But i have to check this range claim...sounds bit low, To my knowlidge OTOMAT II flyes over 120km

If its the unlikely scenario of one ship versus the other, with no other support, i'd say the horizon has better chances. Since no ship has helicopter mounted radar anything over the horizon range is useless as you can't find your target. I'd guess for a ships of these sizes that range would be some 45 km. So the chinese ship would have to get in range of horizon in order to detect it.

If we're talking about a scenario where some aircraft are attacking each ship, again the lack of airborne, over the horizon radar coverage negates the range 52c has. Planes could detect each ship at least some 150km away, probably more, then get low and avoid the radar until they get in range of their weapons. So no, 52c couldn't really attack the planes before they fire their missiles. And once missiles are incoming, i'd give better chances of survival to horizon. Paams is cutting edge tech, according to data that's been released at least on par with current day aegis.

Of course, if ones does posses airborne radar supplying the ship with targets, 52c would have the upper hand with its long range antiship missiles.
