Pretext has been set for another land grab. We are witnessing 1967 2.0. Netanyahu is changing the region just like he said he would.
JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel’s defense ministry on Saturday said the military has been instructed to prepare to defend a Druze settlement in the suburbs of Damascus, asserting that the minority it has vowed to protect was “under attack” by Syrian forces.

The statement, citing an order from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, follows an Israeli warning last weekend that the forces of neighboring Syria’s new government and the insurgent group that led last year’s ouster of former President Bashar Assad should not enter the area south of Damascus.

Saturday’s statement indicates that Israeli forces could push farther into Syria as its new authorities try to consolidate control after more than a decade of civil war. Israeli forces recently set up posts in a buffer zone and on strategic Mt. Hermon nearby. There have been no major clashes between Israeli troops and Syria’s new forces.

So in respect of further Israeli enroach into Southern Syria.. What's the new democratic govt of Jolani doing ? Waiting for possible Turkey Military intervention ?
Lmao no, Turkey literally has no allies and helped create a Syria without any permanent UNSC member protection. Turkey military intervention would trigger full out US response, so they can't do anything but to sit there and watch their biggest geopolitical failure unfold in front of their eyes. Turkey really thought it was securing it's future when it was just handing Syria over to Israel on a silver plate

NEW: Since taking office on January 20, President Donald Trump's administration has approved approximately $12 billion in military assistance and arms sales to Israel over the past 40 days, which averages about $300 million per day

Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently announced that he has used 'emergency authorities' to expedite the delivery of $4 billion worth of equipment to Israel.

This is so humiliating for Iran and Hezbollah. They spent 10+ years fighting in Syria, lost thousands of soldiers, wasted so many resources, only for Syria to end up being Israeli playground.

_____________

Israel is advancing 13km deep into Syria, in the Tel al-Mal peak in the Daraa Governorate, where a Syrian military post once stood.

The hill is well outside the so called “buffer zone” between Syria-Israel, which Israel seized following the HTS’ de-facto leadership.

Israeli bulldozers were also heard in the area, as well as helicopters and drones.

Israeli military vehicles were also seen in the nearby town of Masharah, and on a road to the Syrian al-Tyha village.

Btw, Israel’s 18km deep penetration into Syria in Tal al-Mal, is the longest penetration since 1973.

I'd say Iran is also relieved that Syria is someone else's problem now. With unreliable supply lines through Iraq, it was just a waste of Iranian taxpayers' money. And Syria becoming Gaza fied is just making people regret that they pushed out Assad

So it appears anti-Islamist/pro-Assad fighters are now resisting and taking some of the coastal areas back. US/Turkey/Israel backed ISIS forces are now indiscriminately executing Alawite/Shia male populations leaving behind mass piles of bodies and dead protestors all around Syria. There are rumors that Turkish forces are entering Idlib to capitalize on the chaos and grab some Syrian land. Videos and details on Middle East Spectator & Intel Slava on Telegram. WARNING: There are mass execution videos that are very graphic and there is too much blood.

Golani and HTS really messed up. Now those sanctions against Syria will never be lifted. These guys just couldn’t help themselves. They had to film their atrocities. Just like their Zionist cousins. Wouldn’t be surprised if Turkey drops HTS for the SNA if more and more massacres occur. Also after seeing all of this why would the Kurds and Druze or any minority group put down their arms? They really fucked up.

I don't think anyone has put down their arms just yet. The HTS Salafists are facing insurgencies all over Syria, but whenever they get attacked, they just go to Shia, Alawaite, and Christian villages and start chopping heads and conducting summary executions. Add to that the relentless blockades by Turkey, NATO, US & Israel and you get a population that has been exhausted by a prolonged conflict and lost many military aged men. Turkey are very aware of who they are funding. Its not like Salafism just emerged from under the rug and took Turkey by surprise. If they were really worried about Kurdish militants on their border, they would have fought the Kurds in Northern Iraq and called it a day instead of helping their American masters collapse Syria and hand it over to Israel on a silver platter.

It is worth mentioning that mainstream media are running crisis management in overdrive. They are framing this as an Iranian backed terrorist attack that was thwarted by HTS, heroically. There won't be any political backlash just yet. Liberal Syrians are being ethnically cleansed in a vacuum.
