Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the United States would work to ensure that Israel "has what it needs to defend itself".
"Over the coming days the Department of Defense will work to ensure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself and protect civilians from indiscriminate violence and terrorism," Austin said in a statement.
Of course. The US maintains vast weapons stockpiles in Israel as a contingency for events like these.

That just goes to show that the Chinese PLA (People’s Liberation Army) is a terrorist army like the Palestinian PLA (Palestine Liberation Army).
In a way you can say Palestinians vs land grabbing settlers is like Chinese peasants vs landlords. Things like "village surrounds cities" applies.

Israel and Palestinian Hamas began fighting. The situation in Israel turned into war, which was officially announced by the Israeli leadership and announced the mobilization of reservists. The Israeli Security Council has already approved the ground operation “Iron Swords” in the Gaza Strip and has begun striking it. By the evening of October 7, Palestinian Hamas units advanced 35-40 km from the GAZA strip. At the moment, the Palestinians control about 1.5 thousand square meters. km of Israeli territory. It is worth noting that where Hamas units were located, dozens of killed civilians were found. Women from young to old and men are captured and taken to Hamas-controlled territory. We cannot show this. Hamas captured Israeli strongholds with military equipment, several Merkava tanks, Ahzarit armored personnel carriers and other military equipment. In the morning, Israeli Major General Nimrod Aloni was captured, but Israeli authorities deny this. Now civilians are fleeing en masse from the area of military operations. An Islamic Jihad spokesman said the captured Israelis would be held until all Palestinian prisoners were released from Israeli prisons. Episodes of military operations between Israel and Palestinian Hamas are further in the video.

China is friendly to both sides so they are in a tough position. Probably will say both side need to be restrain and not cause harm blah blah
Well I think China is in a good position on the contrary. To Israel, China can say "you can still change your mind about my mediating you and Palestinians in Beijing". On Hamas, China won't criticize because it is a garrilar war against occupation.

This whole event is the latest demonstration that US can not do anything to keep Israel safe, it can neither mediate peaceful settlement. It will only make China's offer more attractive and probably the only offer that two sides can get.

Pax Americana died in 2020 when war broke out between Armenia and Azerbaijian. The shitshow than ensued in 2022 and 2023 are just nails in the coffin.

The only positive development from this escalation is that Saudi-Israel US led pact suffered a huge setback. Such a pact would have been a win for US influence in middle east.
A US led pact is never going to work to begin with, because it does NOT take in Palestinian in the talk. It is EXACTLY the same as Munich Agreement that UK and France traded Czechoslovakia's right without Czechoslovaks having a say. Saudi Arabia allowing itself to be involved in such process is acting like UK and France back then, it is a shame, not only in the eyes of Palestinians, but also to the rest of the world.

Can such a pack win? I think NEVER if we learn from history.
