Now apparently German government is leaning toward adapting Huawei's approach to ensuring privacy and security through enhancement of security regulatory requirements and stricter compliance for all network operator and service provider. As more countries take this approach, the US ability to spy and eavesdrop will be severely hampered. I guess no more eavesdropping on German chancellor's, Japanese PM's and other world leader's conversation.​

To be fair and open, every vendor should have their equipment tested in a facility and environment determined by the security agency of concerned government. The relevant agency can make their own decision through their own eyes and hands.

Huawei has actually proposed such cooperation. But I strongly doubt Trump would agree with this though.:rolleyes:

US government started the crusade against Huawei by first inserting FBI agent inside HK HSBC Bank

US government purposely found some infractions by HK HSBC Bank and started to sanction it. HSBC no choice but accepted US government punishment including putting FBI agent inside HSBC.

From there, FBI agent dug up all old records on Huawei, iran and launched crusade against Huawei.

That's how US government works first arm twisting a third party and make them work against its intended primary target.

Very sneaky on US government.

It will arm twisting and falsely accused third party just to make the work against intended target.

Do not trust HSBC of Hong Kong again, it already infiltrated by FBI agents.

The same tactic used against ZTE , putting an US insider inside ZTE board to monitor the company.

This is China intelligence failure lies,someone placing a Trojan horse or snitch inside HSBC Bank in HK which it has jurisdiction over, it didn't know.

Must be too busy suppressing falun gong or Uighurs and ignore the more dangerous predator. Paper tiger.

If it were up to the task, it would preempt the snitch inside HSBC and none of the current Huawei crusade would happen.

China intelligence outside of mainland sucks, they really need to upgrade their international intelligence to prevent this HSBC incidence happening especially in HK when they have complete jurisdiction


Btw , I am sick and tired of so many Chinese TV dramas of busting cross countries drug and money laundering rings, demonstrating how well their intelligence and professionalism of their police are. Inside China, yeah but outside China, they are dwarfs.

Considering that America traded two high ranking spies for whatever they got on Huawei, and their case against Huawei seems to be falling apart now, that doesn’t sound like a very good trade to me.

There is no evidence they managed to steal the source code or any critical technology either, since their companies have not yet incorporated Huawei advances.

The fact you are reading about it now shows that the attacks were foiled and exposed. Huawei has only gained in popularity after US allegations. America’s dirty laundry has been shown and what for?

They are only fooling their domestic audience whose eyes and ears they control, this is not a feat, but the base responsibility their state has to have in order to function. And even that control is slipping. You see people questioning their narratives all the time.

You are the worst team player I have ever seen. Actually Chinese and US intelligence both rank at the top of the world so either one pulling one off on the other is not unusual. Of course, this, assuming it is true, (can you provide a source for your claims?) definitely qualifies as a learning experience that Chinese intelligence can improve from but it certainly doesn't qualify as a massive failure (which indicates an easy solution was ruined by severe incompetence). This is basically you throwing a tantrum at the TV, cursing out your basketball team and calling them massive failures every time the rival team scores in the NBA finals. Be a team player and don't be that guy who pulls out the blame finger every time something happens.

I did like to ask Tidalwave on how on earth would the MSS of the PRC be aware of a single compromised individual in a bank that is not even remotely connected to any state apparatus. If any it would be Huawei's fault in not liasing with banks like the PBOC which offers greater security status.

I am not a pure homer, I give credit when its due and call out when its slacking off.

Can China pull off something in US territory that US intelligence doesn't know?

No man, it's not an individual act. It's HSBC has an alleged infraction/violation to US law which it doesn't even dare to challenge and as punishment which HSBC accepted, US inserted agents and have people dug up old records. This China got to know and aware of.
Yes, this is happened in HongKong, a Chinese territory.
Even thought HK has some sort of self rule, CHina can't let foreigners run wild in its territory.
It's not even Huawei name. It's Skycom, where Wen Zhou was in charge,

Still it is Huawei's fault for not considering more solid options in regards to financial transactions, moreover since Huawei is most certainly conducting this business outside of official government supervision, the fault lies doubly on them for not disclosing it to the MSS which would have most certainly prompted an inquiry unto the transactions in question.
Like I said, the MSS can only be held at fault for matters that are brought to their attention or are in their purview, Huawei's actions falls into neither of them. HK is still special administrative territory, and will continue to be so until 2057. So like it or not the MSS has little to no jurisdiction there.

I can name a few, namely the Jerry Chun Shing Lee case which dismantled US intelligence network in China. The situation is exactly the same as that of HSBC, a compromised invidual was liased by foreign agents and the damage was uncovered only to late, such is the nature if intelligence work. Putting an intelligence to use will almost certainly blow the cover of the ones divulging the info, but not putting it to use renders it useless.
