NEGITIVE,NEGITIVE.....the RPG 29 is being used in very large numbers in Iraq. It is a Major improvement over the RPG7. They have prove very good at defeating the side skirt"none ballistic" then if missing a road wheel WILL defeat the hull thus mission killing the tank.

Well i think the iraqis mainly bought the t72 because they have spare parts, technicians capable of doing maintnance, and most importaintly people that are famillar with these tanks.I think iraqis could have bought the m1,but then they would have to call the americans for help every time the tank would run out of gas.Same for the leopards. As for the rpg problem...well lets just hope they will provide proper infantry support for them in dangerous enviroments.

Vytautas, you took the words right out of my mouth. But then again, considering they cant seem to pay for the tanks themselves, they might have trouble recruting anything other than volunteers. That, and munitions caches from the Baath party might have been destroyed indescriminately, including amunition and possibly even spare parts. A smart idea for the Ammo, as likely they would have been used as IED's by insurgents. It wasint exactly private information where they were stored. These insurgents seem quite capable of getting hidden ammo caches as well as making their own.

If anything, my guess is maybe they will end up in a political snafu. And dosent seem awful intresting that, in all places, they are being impounded in Kuwait?
