Popeye, I agree with you 100%, If you take away some of the western European navies (they can compare with the US navy in terms of technology and training, not size), and chose any navy in the word to run an exercise against the US navy- I know where the smart money would be.

All of us have valid points. But I speak as you do from experience.

Personally reguarding training I don't think any nation trains it's Navy like the USN. Simply because the USN spends so much time at sea operating it's forces in one way or another.

You know running an excersise is far different that what real warfare is. In a real war the gloves,so to speak, would be off. Diffrent? How? I remember sitting in a squadron ready room and pilots discussing this war game we were in and them arguing about why we(USN) has to lose this time when we(USN) could beat them most of the time. And why we were limited in the use of certian equipment. That's a fact.

And unlike you in general I know what I am talking about. I have also had a military tour (not a relatives or gen public showing of the nice things on board) of the Stanis A/C carrier, and I am yet to see a military machine that even half compares

I made 7 deployments on 5 USN CV's. One on the Nimitz. The bottom line is this. A Nimitz class CVN is just awesome. Simply awesome. You have to see it to believe it.

Baibar of Jialat. I would rather be an Oath than a petulant little child like yourself. We are talking about the US Navy, not about my post on another topic. Try be a big boy now and stay on topic.
.

That's pretty uncalled for. Please don't turn it into a personal attack. He had an issue with your statement he didn't personally insult you. :(

It's a good article but as they say the proof is in the pudding. The only way short of a war that nations can test their abilities is in wargames. Plainly something went wrong on several occasions.

Once is a blip, twice is a coincidence...three times is a wakeup call.

Popeye I don't doubt the USN is a fantastic fighting machine however it's not invulnerable. Even the biggest animal can be brought low when attacked effectively

The first time you see one of these "whitsle blowers" on US Tv let me know. I would be very intrested in what they have to say.

I agree to most of what you are saying. but the best policy the US Navy should take is to read reports like these and take it as constructive criticism it will help erode any defencies.(Unless report is complete crap upto u to decide if this is the case)

I am speculating if their are any problems in regard to submarine warfare i bet the US has commissioned a internal investigation to indentify any potential problems.

Is the USN invernable? In no way would I ever state that. Is the USN Very, Very capable warfighting machine? And difficult to beat? You better believe it. That's a fact.

Something may have been wrong during the excersises. Somethings could have been done right. Or the writer could be biased. Military technology does not work perfectly 100& of the time. Nothing does. Military excersises are just that ..Excersises. All done within certian peramiters.

I just post from my previous experience & my sons recent experience that he is willing to share with me. That's all.

Once again the USN is not invenerable. Hard to beat yes. No military force is undefeatable. No matter what we all may think.
