It's made by A CANADIAN who's been supposedly living there since 2023. It's probably part of the west attempt in cognitive warfare to the PH to make them support brain dead attempts by their leaders in its quixotic attempt to gain some sort of leverage with CHINA.

Jeez i skipped around and off course it uses the Battle of Yultong as one of the reasons, i immediately closed the video..
Different times man, its not like the US or western coalition won any big war given those are the only wars left over after
Global war on terrorism.
"900" vs "15000" (source needed btw, it's from a propaganda speech by the literal Philippines ex-president rather than any reputable battle record lmfao) Screenshot_20240816_072032.jpg

:D

A closer reading of the Spring offensive reveals that the main opponent of the PVA 44th division was US' 3rd infantry division, which included a minimal amount of foreign mercs, such as Pinoys et al.

During the time, a full strength PVA division would consist 9500 men, while a full strength US division would have 15000. But since China had committed fresh reserves into the Spring offensive, while many US units were still suffering, the actual numbers difference was probably not so large.

So during a positional battle of around 10 000 PVA and similar number of US Army, a Philippines battalion faced what amounts to multiple DRGs which tried to trickle through into US rear.
These groups appeared around the Pinoys which fired blindly (even by their own admission) at night against dispersed PVA squads. This they claim gave them 500 kills, unaware that such a loss would have rendered the whole Chinese division close to combat ineffective, which they were clearly not, as the US division had to retreat under fire the next day.

In conclusion: Out of the unknown number of DRGs that pushed into or past the Philippines positions, the 10th BCT managed to capture 2 PVA and repulsed "some" of the fast moving groups, mostly by firing blindly while not having comms. In return, the PVA killed 38 of the defenders and took 6 prisoners.

Edit: digging deeper into this, it gets even more embarrassing.

Pinoys have been taught to celebrate this event which is on par in impact and scope to the average Akhmat ambush videos @Tam posts on the Ukraine war thread as a "great victory" and "one of the most important battles in the Korean war".

What's even worse is that while PVA and US accounts agree on that PVA DRGs only had mixed success in the wider sector battle, some of the groups at Yultong had in the local battle managed to pierce into the 10th BCT's HQs, where they neutralized 2 of its 3 commanders.

While it will probably be never known which side suffered more casualties in such a minor ambush, not even Pinoy nationalist sources let alone neutral accounts claim the defeat of any PVA recon group commanders.

Combine that with MacArthur quote “Give me ten thousand Filipinos and I shall conquer the world!” and you have a big recipe for disaster. Its kind of like those nazis spawns in Ukraine thinking they are immune to Russian bullets and artillery.

Why the fuck in the first place would you listen to a guy whose main claim to fame is getting beaten despite having a bigger army with much more firepower.

Peng Dehuai has been well lionized, and his and Lin Biao's invention of dividing units to pin the enemy stronghold while the split detachments deeply penetrate behind enemy lines are still valid today, and were devastating back in the 1950s when armies didn't have this concept of fighting.

But no matter how good Peng Dehuai was, he had to rely on only this tactic over and over in Korea, since China's ww2 damaged industry and lack of official involvement in Korea reduced his options.

Were MacArthur even a mediocre commander, it's hard to see why he would not be able to eventually adapt against the 1 sided tactics from Peng and win ground back in Korea using his larger and better equipped army.

Imho MacArthur who was accustomed to fighting the Japanese that essentially fielded warlord armies with little discipline but relied on fanaticism and numbers, had acquired a deep seated racist complex, which made him unable to comprehend the tactics used by the PVA.

Or maybe I am underestimating how much better PVA command was on the field and the whole war was just a case of an okayish general being rolled by someone with godlike talent. I'm not exactly an expert.

Nah, the US command staff was okayish.

And they did later adapt (well, around or after when they got pushed to the 38th, were the supply lines for the PVA were getting difficult)
