Theoretically the military could use a variant of the google glass to evaluate troop exercises/trainings and maybe even monitor them in real time.

IMHO, pretty good documentary on the evolution of Aircraft Carriers designs up to the Nimtz Class, showing how far we've come from propeller airplanes. Props to the RN and USN aviation crews, pilots and engineers!
