Except that the battery life on your average portable oxygen generator is 4 hours. Sparingly maybe 18. Additionally it’s louder too.

From my understanding there are also purely chemical portable oxygen generators, basically a box with water and accompanying chemical packs. Relatively light and robust, with the problem of needing to refill relatively frequently (water and chemical packs). It’s also quite cheap compared to electrically operated ones.

If the military is just looking for a method of providing occasional bursts of oxygen for soldiers instead of a constant supply for hours this could be a very valid choice.

Edit: rewatching the video, it seems that this oxygen-providing thing is a small, roughly rectangular box, which would be a weird choice of shape if they are indeed using oxygen bottles.

Vests being properly worn, without ex
Someone should let the PLA know that those are plate carriers, not aprons

Honestly, my expectations for PLAGF infantry equipment were already incredibly low, and yet it still hurts to look at this.

At this point, it'll probably take a dozen or so PLA soldiers dying from hits to the aorta (that should have been stopped by their plates) to change this.

Finally, the standard issue vests are being worn properly, and they appear to have ballistic inserts in them.

type 95 vest in type 21 pattern, handing to plaaf land based anti air units, don't know if they're custom or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're issued, after all, there are experiences saying that for the none direct combat and patrol units, none protective vest works better than those are, Americans have their Load Bearings version of PC GEN III, I guess this is the solution for pla to encounter the same question

If your bottle is working for 4 hrs and your generator for days... what would you choose ? It all depend of the situation, availability of supply or energy, etc... If they say they have generator, it's probably not a tank if there's no errors...
Drugs. There are drugs that boost red blood cell count like epo (Erythropoietin) GSK 1278863. Others like Gw 50156 increase respiratory and cardio while sr 9009 make your muscles generate more atp via the mitochondria. Throw in basic stimulants and you are fine. Drugs are cheaper longer lasting and easier to carry . A short 20 minuet tank ( cut that amount in half) is good for shtf

Have tested Erythropoietin for some high altitude camping and backpacking in South America, got problems with extremity numbing because my blood got to thick... It does the trick for some but not for all. If you fall in case per case is way more complicated than a generator...

Or you could just chew cocoa leaves like we and the local cheskis did when we were there.
