Clearly you don't know the history.I have always thought USA digital cammo looked like cheap ripoffs of German WWII cammo ever since I saw it the first time. Then they came with that awful no quite Grey so called universal pattern. Blech. A lot of countries have been copying the MultiCam cammo scheme or at least the colors lately.
1) the Germans in world war 2 didn't issue a pattern in any way resembling pixelated. That was a late was Soviet pattern Stair step pattern.
2) the American "pixilated" pattern came about from experiments in the 70s with a pattern called Duel Tex that lead to Canada creating the first of the modern "Digital" patterns when they combined the pixels with computer printing creating CADEX. These were then adopted by the US among others with changes in coloration including the UCP pattern based on Shadow track a pattern that even in earlier trials proved less then effective. That digital pattern was also copied by the PLA.
Multicam was devised before UCP pattern and was part of the same program that created shadow track. and should have been adopted then but the generals got involved. I ended up adopted in the end though and widely copied including by the PLA.
