Except first, only a few helmets have compatibility with such accessory systems. It’s still relatively new. In fact since I pointed to the FFW system much of the idea of mounting rails on the side actually came from that in the form of the 2010 FAST Helmet. The night vision mount was still fairly rough as late as 2000. Farther the Helmet shown here may be Chinese issue but it’s brand new Chinese issue tailored to suit such modifications. It’s also likely only suited to a specific cut of said helmet.I think people are alienating this Military Augmentation Combat System a bit too much the Helmet is nothing special it's all about the Goggles and It's attachments attached to the ACH Helmet meaning any Helmets with rails on the side and compatible with night vision goggles can utilize this system without the too much effort to replace already existing Ballistics.
You have the visor and it’s cameras which like the HoloLens has multiple lenses. This would be displaying an augmented reality heads up display. All the lenses on this system are I suspect for head tracking.
Guizhou PAP peeking around the corner...
The image is new but indeed the News are old.

Second, Theses systems are still in early stages. The closest to fielding seems the IVAS based off a derivative of Microsoft HoloLens yet even that has a lot of work needed to move to combat ready I don’t expect you to see that in the field until maybe 2025 soonest. View attachment 87191 This system? Isn’t likely to be fielded any time sooner either.
Third, it’s not just the Augmented reality visor system. It’s a whole suite of systems. Look at the images you posted and what I posted and I will breakdown what you are seeing.

(The FFW helmet image I posted was one iteration with a smaller display. A number of versions were shown as it was alway a concept piece some had visors some were full face coverage this one had the low profile.)
Yet it’s not all in the visor, you have a pair of larger helmet mounted systems on each “ear” that’s more like what was thought of for the FFW concept. In fact the more I look at this I am flashing back FFW and Objective force 2020 and those hours of time I spent playing Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Because this is almost exactly what it foresaw.
One side was a fused sensor camera combination of night vision and Thermal the other was a digital camera. In this case I suspect it’s a thermal on the right (ours) and a camera on the left possibly night vision. This differs from IVAS in that IVAS has its cameras in it. The Head trackers, Night vision, thermal are all in the visor. That’s why so many lenses.
FFW like this had an integrated head set with communications and more. The idea was to give the soldier not just a radio but a system that dampened sounds that could deafen him well amplifying sounds that might be warnings. To allow this the idea was that small directional microphones would be built into the frame of the shell and a sort of surround sound system was to be built into the headphones.
The radio also was to try and keep its sounds to you and not those around you. This like that on the FFW requires a ballistic shell with a fairly small ear cup in order to facilitate the head set. Also we have the boom mic which is an obvious need. FFW envisioned that the shell would have an antenna built onto the frame to save space.
I feverously wait for the day all infantry are equipped with HMD-style helmets as standard. Maybe in the next 100 years.
Yes Im not denying at all that this system is new I only stated that there was nothing magnificent with the Helmet, however these helmets has been utilized commonly now as time goes more helmets will have rails implemented on them or have the compatibility to be implemented with rails.Except first, only a few helmets have compatibility with such accessory systems. The Army delayed larger adoption for issues of field of view. A common issue in the case of NVGs. However the US army as of 2 weeks ago was still asking for funding of the program. And so far Microsoft has delayed their project with the US army of the HMD after the US had given them feedback it does not look very promising for Microsoft the project could eventually be cancelled if they can't work out a solution.
These guys are Air Force, as indicated by their patches. Just thought I'd point this out.View attachment 86881View attachment 86936View attachment 86937View attachment 86938
