So basically, we have the Jai Hind political leadership that is so gung-ho about wanting to fight China militarily post-clash, but then figuratively went into hibernation when the PLA actually moved right up against the contact line, essentially throwing the ultimate responsibility to the Indian Army commander (and throwing the army commander under the bus if things went south)?

It's strange there isn't any SOP for such a situation? "What to do when enemy is approaching? Call politicians and ask." I don't believe this account/narrative.
I would not be surprised if the contract is awarded to Adani Defence and Aerospace.
By the way Adani Defence and Leonardo also signed MOU to build the helicopters in India as well.
