Everyone here is missing the blatantly obvious that is revealed by such a move.

Indian leadership calculations suggest they do not believe any tensions with China will escalate to the level of artillery exchange. Therefore, this airfield is relatively safe since the risk of artillery being used in future conflicts is considered by Indian side to be very low or extremely limited.

This is therefore simply an attempt to mark out where they believe their borders lie i.e. hundreds of kilometers away, where Indian claims are. This is long term strategic planning. They expect no kinetic war with China therefore use this to mark out where they believe their territory ends for posterity. Many decades later, these sorts of significant developments can be used to promote their views on territorial claims and where the borders are.

This move just reveals they do not believe any true underlying tensions are currently anywhere near the levels of 2020 - 2023 and won't become strained to the point of risking the airfield and aircraft on it.

Social media is abuzz with tweets showing images and videos of a potential embarrassment for India's multi-role fighter aircraft Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas at the ongoing Dubai Air Show.

The Indian Air Force is in Dubai to participate in the Air Show with the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and LCA Tejas.

Now, videos of LCA Tejas that are widely being circulated online allegedly show that there was an "oil leak from the fuselage right on the tarmac". It is to be noted that one of the users circulating these videos goes by the handle 'Pakistan First'.

THE WEEK could not independently verify the authenticity of the videos circulating online. One cannot rule out the possibility of attempts to discredit India's bold push to showcase its defence products and capabilities at the Dubai Air Show.

"At the Dubai air show, the Indian Tejas jet faced embarrassment after reports of an oil leak surfaced," claimed a user.

Wow, this is the exact same sort of shit that happened to the JF17 a few years ago, but at least this time there's "evidence".

Here is explanation for leaking event by user 'IDU'

Pakistani madarsa-chap ISPR bots, led by Tactical Tipu a.k.a. Junaid from the Fake Medal Shop are claiming Tejas “leaked oil” at Dubai Air Show 2025. Reality : It wasn’t oil or fuel. It was the ECS system draining condensed water formed when hot bleed air is cooled for cockpit air-conditioning.The bag was placed simply to collect water, nothing else. But ISPR’s “aviation experts” can’t tell water from engine oil, as usual.
