That may be, but I think this is a precursor to even deeper US-India ties. The US is too concerned about China to hold back any real moves. The US would rather see a improved Indian military using advanced US technology, than to have a faltering India military trying to build their own.

That is why China is now building up Pakistan military with Chinese technology.

India waited for proper US ToT almost forever, to the point it by itself is a source of mistrust.
British did it, Soviets did it, Russia does it, France does it.
Only US are so caught up in their advancedness, that struggle to providing anything right to the point of its obsolescence.

India To Procure Rafale M, More Scorpene Submarines
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to France from July 13 - 14 at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron has culminated with multiple significant announcements regarding defense cooperation, specifically in the naval sector.
[...]

Cooperation on SSN ?

The MEA release detailing the MDL – Naval Group MoU also stated that “India and France are ready to explore more ambitious projects to develop the Indian submarine fleet and its performance.” It is possible that this may lead to eventual cooperation regarding India’s diesel-electric (SSK) and nuclear-powered (SSN) programs.

Cooperation on surface ships

Further, an MoU has been signed between Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) and Naval Group to “collaborate in the field of surface ship that caters to fulfil the requirement of India and International Naval forces.”

The West seems to be running a major influence campaign on India. Both a long term one and a short term one. They are putting the squeeze both on the Indian government and the business sector.

And then you have all these "spontaneous" protests firing all over India.

For just an example of how insidious Western propagandists are in India, you should read about the foreign funded protests against the nuclear power plants the Russians built there (Kudankulam NPP). Foreign christian churches convinced the local population to protest in an attempt to kill those projects. Thankfully they failed.

The "Super Kalvari"

They sure aim high. This thing is pretty much inline with Korean Dosan chang anho class. Except apparently with French AIP. There seems to be only LOX tank in the hull, the hydrogen for fuel cell is obtained via reforming process, which basically boiling the diesel fuel and extract Hydrogen from the steam and purify it before feeding it to the fuel cell. The remnants of the process are stored or ejected out via cosworth dilution system, which dilute the exhaust gas to seawater.

One potential problem i see is that the exhaust system requires that the pressure inside the submarine to be higher than the water pressure for the dilution process to work. This can constrain the design diving depth, if the external pressure become excessive the sea-water instead will attempt to force its way in, potentially damaging the system.

Normally, I do not pay much heed to IDRW releases as they usually tend to be plagiarised content with utter implausible narratives but your insightful indulgence does indeed carry worth to it. Much thanks
