Doesn't surprise me at all. Corruption plays a big role in Indian military procurements, and the French are traditionally more willing to bribe and use dirty tactics to win military contracts than American ones. This is exactly what happened with the original Indian Rafale purchase.

Disassemble the aircraft, that's a joke ? Modification can be made on the lift to gain place for the wings, but for the tail if it's hangar height, they are in a giant mess. Would have been better to carry-on with a naval Tejas even if the aircraft would not have been of great value.
