There you say that Project 18 will be superior to type 055.

You sound very elated there. But many of the specs you lay down are mere speculations at best. What's the source of the news?

IEPS? with what technology base?
Which powerplant?
What's the exact weight?
Is the project even official?
Has there been any design study?
Other things like UVLS etc remain just mysteries.


Is it truly a product that'll materialize in the coming decade?

Regarding the powerplant - I guess the engine and IEPS would be British MT30, Queen Elizabeth class and Type 45 Destroyer of UK.

If that's the case, I have doubts about license production. It is beyond Indian capabilities.


India license assembles GE LM 2500+ series, right?
