ARCI's Electron Beam Physical Vapour Deposition Sys

Capable to deposit TBCs with columnar microstructure on various heat app components.
It can also coat the yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) on aero-engine blades n vanes.
50-100 µm/hr depo rate, productivity of 10-15 kg/hr

A large window of coating thickness (10µm-2 mm). Ability to coat thin foils, strips, sheets & heavy blanks

️Currently in applications at the HAL for helicopter and aero-engine.

These are all conical shaped items made from 1.6mm steel sheet , assembled at the rear side of 1000 lb BOMB / BOMB 250kg and BOMB 450Kg respectively. These Tail Units function as stabilizing/balancing unit of the BOMBs while dropping from Air Force Craft.

The profile and inner contours of the sheet is cut from CNC operated Laser Beam Machining Machine . This Laser Machining Machine possessed by OFDC can be classified as a rare type machine in Ordnance Organisation. The speciality of this machine is that it can cut outer/inner profile of a sheet upto 7mm thick (max) with zero tolerance dimension and bright finish.

1000 lb BOMB HE can be dropped from heights as high as 15000 metres. It penetrates deep into subsoil and detonates giving earthquake effect. Against concrete runways , it penetrates deep and detonates leaving a crater of approx 6m x 3m deep thus putting them out of commission.

Second picture is the actual product:- The Bomb HE 1000 LB is made of Cast Steel construction open at both ends. The Bomb body is filled with high explosive. The nose opening is closed by an exploder container. The rear end of the body has an annular groove to accept the securing screws of either a tall unit or a transit base. Tail unit is used to stabilize the Bomb during its flight.

GTRE's High-intensity Annular Combustor for Kaveri. It has a circumferential pattern factor of 0.35 and Radial patter factor of 0.14. Almost Equivalent to the one in GE's F414. These 2 factors determines the quality of hot gas emanating from gas turbine combustor. It has a direct effect on the life of the turbine vanes and blades and ideally, they should be as small as possible. A higher total pressure loss in the combustor liner reduces the pattern factors but from the engine overall performance perspective, it has to be a minimum.
