Armenia is nearing a $3 billion agreement with India to purchase advanced Su-30MKI fighter jets, marking the biggest defense deal in its history. The aircraft, built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited under India’s “Super Sukhoi” upgrade program, will feature cutting-edge Uttam AESA radar, Astra missiles, and electronic warfare systems. Deliveries are expected by 2027

A few nights ago (after drinking), I signed a contract to deliver fifteen 9mm handgun rounds to a friend for a contracted price of 2 billion (10.000 lakh for you) USD per round; payment on arrival; delivery in 15 years. Surely this is the largest defense deal in history?

Or maybe this Armenia-India deal is simply a load of overinflated bull. How many planes are being sold? At a gander I'd wager that each airframe is at least 200 million (2.000 lakh for you) USD.

India has moved up to the third position, surpassing China, due to its higher TruVal Rating (TVR), which evaluates factors like operational readiness, modernization, logistics, and training in addition to the number of aircraft.

Never believe a statistic that you have made on your own or which is made by your homies ... please, especially readiness & the following topics are simply ridiculous compared to China and the PLAAF:

Readines? ... how many losses did the IAF have?

Modernisation? ... how many J-10C, J-16 and especially J-20 + J-35 has the PLAAF put into service compared to how many MKI, Tejas in recent years?

Logistics?

Training? ... which trainers does the PLAAF have, especially its own compared to which number of which types in India?

... and then not even ISR/EW/AEW types, tankers, vans, etc. are included ...

I don't know how the IAF is supposed to be in front of the PLAAF at any point.

My new friend! Let‘s keep it simple! … STOP SPREADING UNPROVEN BS AND FAKE-news! Check what you post, check the credibility of such sources and THINK!

Do you think, Armenia would get an Indian-built Su-30MKI without Russian agreement when it not even can build Flankers - and that since years - alone 100% indigenously? Will Russia provide its parts to these Flankers when it can sell just its own Su-30SM/SM2?

Never ever.

Holy shit it's the Hindustan Times too? Man I genuinely feel bad for its founders if 100 years later they somehow decided to spread literal fake news, it's one of the oldest Indian newspapers too, and used to be one of the more respectable ones

Su-30MKI has been manufactured in India for a long time, but the Super Su-30 is a different aircraft. It’s an advanced Indian-made fighter jet derived from the Su-30’s design. Essentially, its base platform is the Russian Su-30—similar to how China’s J-16 is a Chinese-built fighter jet developed from the Su-30’s design.

maybe there should be a forum rule that prohibits the posting of any "news" involving future tense - no "nearing" "looking at" "about to" "considering" "RFI" shit.
particularly if it's india related.

Nope, you're still using Russian engines, and is still made under the permission of the UAC, the moment they decide to halt delivery of new engines your production is dead in the water.
Second, India does not manufacture any radar for the jets that in CURRENT service, not the Bars, not the Zhuk, not the RBE2, not the 2032 and certainly not the 2052 that is in the sole flying Tejas Mk 1a. You can't claim to have developed something that you can't even make yourself.

Let's dissect.
Operational readiness in IAF is indeed high.

Modernization in IAF is going, mildly speaking, very badly, due to string of unfortunate choices and delays around.
IAF managed to update weakest parts of the fleet to minimum viable standard/ELU upgrades (mig-29upg, jaguar, mirage). Tejas is about to deliver to this category, but this is future.
Main IAF strength badly needs upgrade, and that upgrade is still years away. They can't realize even what they have, as their missiles are still stuck in 1990s.
Topline IAF fighters - Rafales - are few in numbers (3 sq), aren't top of the line fighters in the first place, and lack key enablers(meteor); as such, their missiles are stuck in 1990s.

Logistics - anything spectacular? IAF tends to lose airframes in peacetime more than any other major airforce.

Training - maybe, but subpar "modernization" doesn't leave much opportunity. Also, IAF already got a bloody nose v PAF, twice in a row.
