India banned Chinese apps, investments and is causing mischief in Ladakh. Now imagine if China decides to be petty like India and bans the export of these critical items.
Yes. China would not want to do that out of principle. China prefers not to start any ugly trade war. But you never know. If India decides to cross some red lines like recognizing Taiwanese independence, or pushing for a "Free Tibet". All of these are what the Indian media and the BJP are threatening to do. If they follow through with them, then China has no more obligations to honor any agreements with India.

China could start by stopping supply to India's pharma and vaccine industries. India may be able to find other suppliers, foreign or within. But none who could offer China's price and quality. India is not China, so I doubt its pharma industry would be able to recover from such a blow.

The kids suffer because their parents voted for people that rather be US dogs than bhai bhai with China.

It’s only natural the Indian government is skipping out on education. Not like India needs that many educated people anyway. Do people know that the entire country of India with 1.3 billion people and all their companies, universities, research institutes, etc,. spend less money on R&D than Huawei and their R&D spending has been flat as percentage of GDP?

And given that india has uncontrollable covid to the point that herd immunity has taken effect, we can expect to see less indians being produced in the future.

It's even worse once you read the article.

University education only gets cut 3%
This implies that everything else (mainly primary and secondary education) gets cut by 10%

Yet the studies indicate that for a country like India, universal primary and secondary education should have vastly greater lifetime economic returns.

That is to be expected if you still have an population which can't do basic maths or reading.

So I think we can see the effects of elitism, the caste system and Hindu supremacy at work.
Why bother with the Dalits, the Muslims or the lower castes?
Except the problem is that they make up half of India's population.

With policies like this, you also have to question how India expects to sustain high levels of economic growth over the long term.

So I think India's future looks more like Brazil.
In comparison, China looks more like the other East Asian Economic Tigers such as Japan or South Korea.
