What Nikkei and Reuters won't report is that Apple and Foxconn are not leaving China... yet. They are at the moment just diversifying production to other places like India to spread the risk of production distruption. We don't know what they intend to do in the future, but right now they just cannot move their production completely out of China.

On a separate, but funny topic. When the iPhone 14 pre-order was opened in Malaysia. Someone from a popular tech forum in Malaysia posted a serial no. identification method to identity units that were Made in India. Some forum members were shocked and outraged. They announced that they will sell-off their Indian-made units and try to hunt for Chinese-made units. Off course they got slammed for being racist. But one of them replied: "I don't trust Indian quality". LOL!

Actually there are two reason, first is rising labour cost in china & second one is geo political risk involving Chinese supply chain, that's why many American & european companies wants are following china +1 strategy, so they're creating an alternative supply chain which is not dependent on china since Apple is an American companies so obviously they Knows the risk involved with china supply chain and it's not just india. Apple is moving part of their manufacturing to Vietnam too and other companies or contract makers are also moving out of china.

Also people don't buy apple because it's made in india or china, people trust in apple brand and Apple is one of the companies who cares about quality of it's suppliers and they do alot of inspection.

China now have to deal with reality and creates it's own brand as good as apple or even high end of samsung products.

Huawei is dead outside of china, also samsung has it's own supplier like they make chips , amold display. Apple has it's own eco system, chips( fastest for mobile phones) and and it makes product for itself. Huawei was dependent on tsmc and various other suppliers . Services matters more than product too, nobody would ditch apple eco system for huawei harmony os . Nokia's phone failed because of window's os , they had very few apps compare to Google's Android and every body outside china trust more on Google, android and IOs than Chinese platform . I think that within few years USA might put similar huawei like sanction on all of Chinese mobile phone company too, they might loose the market outside of china because users would be frustrated because of lack of Google services .

I find this pretty demeaning. You don't think china had been dealing with reality so far? Xiaomi vivo oppo can ask complete with Samsung in quality.

I don't see china making bold claims about how the country with be a 30 trillion dollar economy in 2030 or outlandish claims like some other neighboring countries.

Apple has it's own eco system, chips( fastest for mobile phones) and and it makes product for itself. Huawei was dependent on tsmc and various other suppliers
Wait so Apple doesn't depend on TSMC? Or various other suppliers?

Write companies are moving manufacturing to different places to mitigate risk but the key is to look at not just where they assemble the phone but where the high end components come from. I'm that regards china is gaining. That's the reality and that's why the US is so hell bent on this tech war. Trust me china can see the reality.

Btw I use a Huawei phone with harmony OS and app gallery. It does all that I need and I'm in a western country.

no, Apple is more dependent on TSMC than Huawei is. They don't make their own products, they contract it out to Foxconn and other suppliers. Huawei is far more vertically integrated and B2B oriented than Apple with business ranging from the bottom in semiconductor design and advanced packaging, to power electronics, to actual devices, to enterprise software.

Who is this? Sleepy student again.. Dude, no point of responding to your inanity and hubris. Shutting out the biggest smartphone market in the world and one of the biggest consumer market on the planet is such a brilliant idea. Please go ahead. Am sure S. Korea and the rest of Asian market are trembling with excitement for this to happen.

More power to your happy talk and super confident assumptions, such arrogance have brought so much winning to the overall strategic aims of the U.S. I feel suffocated already from all this winning.

Your nonsense ain't OVERLORDING on anyone here.

You might be exception 0.0001% users ,but google services matters alot for Preety much any body outside of china, also android has billion of apps and far too much and everybody uses Gmail, YouTube, chrome etc , without it your phone is just like a stupid box. Even huawei created a poll about it and almost vast majority of people want those services back otherwise even if you create decent hardware but it won't become successful in global market and I think huawei like sanction will soon fall on other Chinese company like xiaomi & other companies but before replying back please go through this article , you might be choosing huawei because you might be a Chinese person or huawei fanboy but others are not , there is a reason why apple has so many fanboys and they deserve it because they have created almost superior ecosystem as well as exclusive apple centred OS, apps, hardware, chips other products like Mac etc .

You obviously didn't read my message clearly. I never said others are the same at me and would do well with Huawei. I am mainly refuting to the claim that you don't think china is dealing with reality? And apple doesn't depend on suppliers?
Apple can have a great ecosystem but the depend on a LOT of suppliers.

China can make great phones on par with Samsung. Btw Samsung doesn't have their own OS ecosystem and they use a lot of Qualcomm chips. The key is to increase the amount and technology of Chinese suppliers in smart phone industry. That's hard to do but china is slowly working towards it. That doesn't depend on just where the phone is assembled, which can be easily moved to other countries.

I have a brand new Samsung for work. An old-ish Huawei for personal. My partner has a new iphone and used to be an old Huawei user. The consensus between us is that Samsung and iPhone are absolute garbage compared to Huawei. It's not even close. Spend nearly a decade using brand new versions of all 3, like we have, and you'll understand.
