I'm participating in Model UN

Hey friends of SDF!

My school has started registration for Model UN, which is like a simulation of the UN for the purpose of academic learning. I have signed up for it and chosen to be a delegate of, of course, PRC.

Since this will be my first experience and attempt at MUN, I hope I have fun, but most importantly, learn a whole lot.

MUN is happening next February, and since I signed up as single delegate, I hope I'll meet a good team, as it will be a very critical factor how we present our nation.

I just feel like sharing this with you guys here because well, I've been lingering around in this forum since 2006, and it's been fun with you guys and all, from insulting each other over topics we can never get answers to, to agreeing and making jokes.

Anyways I hope you guys can wish me luck, and I'm also curious if any of you had experiences in MUN. If so, please share your experiences with me. Even if you haven't try it before, I welcome ideas, suggestions, advices, anything from you guys.

I'm also very excited and looking forward to the event. Although I have yet to know my final assigned nation, I hope I do get China, and if so, I'll definitely do my best and put up a good show.

Wish me luck!! Thanks!!

Congratulations it should be a good experience

BTW what politician are you going to use as a role model

Berlusconi = party party party
or
Gaddafi Accompanied at all times by a voluptuous blonde "Ukrainian nurse"

I did a world diplomacy simulation in my international studies class. My team was Iran. America ended up declaring war on us and we whooped them with the best military plan the people running it had ever seen (their words not mine), got them to drop sanctions on us, leave Iraq and apologize for interfering in Iranian affairs. So I guess coming to SDF has paid off :D.

Anyway good luck and always drive a hard bargain, it will pay off!

Thanks Bladerunner. LOL yes I've thought of, and quite sure, I'll mention wikileaks to my advantage. It would put the misery on the US in particular though lol. as for who's my role model, i don't have one actually. should i have a role model to follow?

LOL McCool wt u said sounds fun. If Ahmadinejad saw what u wrote, he'd have been proud XD

I read online that in these diplomacy simulation, people get very assertive and aggressive. Is that true? and did u ever attack on their points if u find fallacies in their arguments?(the reason i asked is because im currently taking critical thinking ;) )

------------

of all things, i hope i dun end up being the delegate for bhutan or sri lanka or sth...there won't be much to do lol, and ppl would probably agree to " more foreign aid"
