Whate information about Russia/Soviet Union are you needing?

Kenneth Ciboski Associate Profeswsor political Science at Wichita State University 1845 Fairmount ST Wichita Kansas.
I have had him for a class he is a expert on Russian/Soviet history.

Try George Washington University they have a On line data base of government documents in their library.

Was looking more for someone I could consult with informally but this is a possibility, largely I'm looking for information that could help me write convincing dialogue between members of Soviet/Russian armed forced personnel and dialogue between regular forces and 'specialist' or political officers.

As well as information then force deployments and naming schemes, as the setting takes place some 50 odd years in the future obviously current armaments would be out of place but having an idea of how to plausibly name future weapon systems would be grand.

Detailed information on how they conduct officer, NCO, and specialist military training schools would be nice to skim through for some of the backstory.

Also what would be good to find is information on the treatment of jewish members of the Soviet armed forces, being the future I could probably get away with whatever I want, but knowing how it was in the past and whatever trends existed up until glasnost would be good for flavor or perspective.

For example if the Soviets had a space colony like in Gundam Wing, a orbital colony with say quarter of a million residents what would they name them? Having an idea of the Soviet mindset for naming projects would be good to know.

Also, if they did expand and settle the solar system would it have evolved from the Airforces, or would it be naval or the Soviet Rocket forces? Alot of stuff to discuss and figure out.

I think the Russians would name a future space/colony after some one from the space program or a Russian Scientist.

do we get partial credit / special mention etc. in the book? :D

if possible, let's have a character in the book, say a fighter pilot, named Mikhail Vladimirovich Sergeychev with the call-sign "panzerkom", who is the leader of an elite squadron called the "knights who say 'net'" :p

well... they did name their space station "mir" -- "peace." so it could also be some grand ideal.

as far as i know, the soviet space program was under firm control of their military -- specifically, the strategic rocket forces, which is an independent arm of the soviet military.

I would be happy to give contributors a guest appearance and a thank you note in the authors note. "Thanks to: etc etc"

Possible cameos:

Soviet personnel, can be from NKVD, a politician or Soviet Armed forces or an AI, as either an officer, NCO, or specialist types like an engineer mechanic or something.

Or you can have a cameo as the same but for the NATO side.

NKVD wasnt under the jurisdiction of the red army i dont think...

but anyways best suggestion would be join the Russian army, but its too late for that cuz even Georgia is at peace now so the second best option would be asking someone who had served in the Russian army.

personally the only thing i know about the Russian army is the beat-the-recruits youtube video and a lot of vodka

The story is alternative history science fiction, so its set in the year 2059 so the Soviet Union never fell, glasnos never happened, and the Sino-Soviet split never occured.

Also I don't think I implied the NkVD was ever under its jurisdiction, only that knowing how they interreact with each other would be nice to have some idea of.
