Never mind, I found a thread on the subject in the Announcements Forum and I can now use custom avatars.

Still the same..I cannot change my avatar unless I go into my account with my mod powers. I cannot change my avatar on my edit avatar page. This has been going on for nearly two years.
I'm sure others have the same problem. anyone???

I should explain better. I can change mine. But if I want a "custom" avatar I have to put on my super mod suit and go into my user account with my mod powers and change my avatar. Look at my avatar..It's not among the selections..

Exactly. I cannot upload a custom avatar. Usually the size of an avatar is limited.
By using you can make any picture an avatar. On the drop down menu used to re-size your pics just select avatar.
