I heard that Canada wants the silent hornet rather F-35. It's reasonable enough because Canadian Air Force have been operating the Hornets for years.

Not only those 24...butthey can upgrade existing F/A/-18E/F aircraft with most of the advanced Hornet capabilities, particularly the conformal tanks.

This Gif shows you just what a happy, lift producing fool the F-18 actually is,, it NOT overpowered as the F-15 or F-22, or even Flanker. To transition from a 90 degree, probably 7 G turn and roll out and transition into a very high alpha climb is quite a gyration, in fact you will notice the bobble as the pilot kinda forces the airplane to conform to his will.. you would have been dead, dead, dead, in a Century fighter had you tried such a stunt, and you sure as HECK wouldn't have done it at 500 ft... over a crowd...
