Any chance more of those student activists could be arrested? Or maybe sending bunch of them to Xinjiang? Otherwise they remain timed bombs.

At the very least, I imagine some people are getting monitor. A court decision has made the NSL somewhat retroactive in a way. I believe if you get caught post NSL , they can retroactive look for incidents pre-NSL as evidence to add weight to your crime.

Hopefully with the US BLM protest/riots, Capital siege, Unhinged Trump, Poor western response to Covid... some of these activist will have at least a more balance view of the world. However, after seeing the incident with the police stabbing, some are beyond help.

No one during the riots were getting convicted, so i think the protesters/rioters felt they had free reign to cause chaos. Now they are sobering up that unauthorized protest will really get you 6 months and breaking NSL will definitely get you 3+ years. Idiots stacking bricks on the road or bashing public structure? That is terrorism, can be 10 years.

Gatekeeper should be proud. His contempt of condoms is vindicated.

proud of you, Gatekeeper.
I had to use Wiki to find out the name of the rioter's leader. As hard as I tried I could not remember "Joshua Wong"Isn't it funny how one can forget the name when they are out of the news, or is it just me?

P.S. What was the name of that American woman attached to the U.S. embassy that was giving advice to these rioters.I can recall some suggesting that she was also at the scene when those "colour revolutions "were occurring?

Sadly I do not know and that is why we need Gatekeeper back.
He is our first hand knowledgeable source for HK related matters, history and events.

Fortunately Reservior dog was able to remember this time.

The link to that video. Pretty funny, these protesters have a bug in their head, china is better off without them. For anyone that may have thought the people waving foreign flags were Chinese instigators, this interviews definitly prove they were not.

The western media and politicians, like Canada's Justin Trudeau, were high on crack dreaming "wealthy and well-educated immigrants from Hong Kong".

There are 300 thousands Canadian citizens living, as permanent residents, not visitors, in Hong Kong. Did Justin Trudeau even know why this many his people left Canada for Hong Kong? To make it even more irony, majority of these 300 thousands people actually came to Canada from Hong Kong.

Like I mentioned previously, Western governments have long ago forsaken any rational thought on actually governing. All of their efforts are focused on winning their next election campaign.

Why did they moved back to Hong Kong? Duh!! $$$ the amount of people I know and met in Canada during my studies that mentioned they are only using the Canadian passport as form of insurance - a just in case scenario - and enhancements to their status in H.K. and add the advantages in terms of education and language proficiency in English because the money they make in HK dwarfs the income potential in Canada. All of which was a shocked to me when I was told about it.
