It will be awkward reading this in Western Media. Even more so for those same media organization to report it.

I know, I can gear it now from our "law abiding rule based friends shouting draconian and typical CCP authoritarian, etc.

But desperate times required desperate measures, and beside, this is no different to what's happening in the west, they just do it more slowly and gentle.

Look at how Trump appoint his judges, (political). Look at how teachers (I'm one) are not alllowed to corrupt "young minds" using standards set by the ........government. (government control), and finally, the journalists, all western journalists required license issued by........ government (control).

And lastly, I would deal with the students, I don't know what or how, but I know we can't let them go or they will spill garbage like this on a foreign "news channels" known as FOX news!

Thousands of Hong Kong residents gathered in front of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government Headquarters in Admiralty Saturday to show their support and gratitude by cheering for the police force. They are hoping the HKSAR government can devise effective policies to curb violence and chaos and restore peace and order in the city as soon as possible.

The PLA hasn't left its barracks since the whole mess started, and now for the first time they do leave, it's too help clean up while wearing civilian/exercise clothes.

From this, we can see that Beijing is determined to project a benevolent image in HK. There will be no PAP intervention.
