Last night, at 8 PM, Walmart had a special on 42" flat screen TVs here in the Boise area...or maybe 40" flat screens for $198.

We have an old 37" TV that was great eight years ago, but is having problems now and about to go out on us, We are ready to get a new one. So, one of my daughters and her husband went last night and asked us if we wanted them to pick one up for us, so we said yes. The 42 or 40" had a line almost 100 people long for only 75 TVs, so my daughter and her husband (who wanted to get one too) ended up going over to the 37" special and got themselves and us one of those for like $130 dollars and we will replace ours with that one.

I'm taking two of my granddaughters who are her kids to the movie on Saturday and will give her a check for it then and we'll set it up tomorrow night. Doing a double header on Saturday. After the kids movie ("Wreck it Ralph") the gandkids are going home with Mom and my two sons (28 and 24 years old) and my two son in laws (35 and 34 years old) are all going to see the new "Red Dawn" movie. Hoorah!

Yay! We got a 32' for our bedroom as well as an iPad 4. My wife wanted a Surface, but I finally convinced her to get an iPad. I am a huge Apple fan.

THis morning we went to Wal-Mart for our annual "BD movie collection expansion mission". I snatched a whole punch of cool classic BD movies at bargain $. So far I've got about 300 BD movies in my collection, 1/3 at regular prices and the others at discounted $ typically on Black Fridays over the years. I'll get some more on Cyber Monday too. The difficult part is slowly phasing out all the DVDs. I have to convince my wife why I need to have a BD version of the same movie that I have on DVD. It's easier to convince her about my favorites, like The Lord of the rings and Star Wars, which I have every format out there.

We also went to watch the life of pi, which is a cool movie. We like it. We were particularly fond of the tiger, which is the zodiac sign for both my wife and I.

I am so excited about the Texans! For years, we are stuck with so so professional sports teams in Houston. The last legit contender was the 94-95 rockets. That was long long time ago. I still remember going to the championship game back in 95. I was still in college at the time. That was some exciting time. I'm feeling that excitement again. BTW, if you want to feel the crazy excitement, go to an Aggies home game!

And how about those Fighting Irish, eh? Defeated USC and remain number one and undefeated. Going to the BCS Championship game...way to go irish!

And A&M romped again! I know all about the Texas Aggies and the 12th man! Have a nephew and niece who graduated there.

Well, Terran, whatever your troubles are, our prayers are with you and yours.

I can tell you this, after my severe and near fatal bout with cancer, and the disabilities it has left me with, I can tell you we all still have a lot to be thankful for, even with the difficulties we face, whatever they are.

During my 2nd of three major surgeries in 2010...and we are talking about a 10 hr, and 18 hr, and another 12 hr surgery all in the space of three weeks, when I almost bled out in the 2nd one and then had to remain on my back and motionless, except for orderlies turning me over every four hours for six weeks, I found that God blesses you even in the worst circumstances.

Then later, in rehab, as I worked hard for three months just to learn to walk again...I saw so many people with worse difficulties than my own and each fighting hard to make the best of it.

So, our prayers are with you...I've been there, and you can make it my friend. God's blessings and speed to you and yours.

...and if nothing else, be thankful that others have something to be thankful about...and help those who are worse off than you. Nothing like helping and serving others to help you through you own difficult times!
