SP3 and the trainer were handed over at the end of july.
the plan for induction is 4 in 2017 and 16 in 2018
this was what the government submitted in the parliament
But, the F-16 deal is hard to pass up, particularly if India gets to manufacture them in India. The finished F-16 product is going to be a better aircraft for India to use to replace all of those legacy aircraft.
I hope the Tejas continues on in any case.
The Naval version of the Tejas is still a good thing for the Indian Navy as they will probably not develop a navalized F-16.
120 aircraft by 2023-2025 is still not enough IMHO. I mean that is nine years from now whech means about 15 per year for heaven's sake. They need to be pumping out 50 - 75 per year.
