Re: H-6 tanker with retracted drogue

H-6K really should have a different name, perhaps H-7 ?, if it was Russian, H-6K would be called H-17 or considering so many upgrades already from original TU-16, perhaps Russian would call it TU-17

^^^ Could be a C/DJ-10

No, they're too fat to be CJ-10, and they also have a way different wing configuration, and it doesn't have a fixed inlet, this picture shows it clearer.

It's a KD-63 LACM. And both H-6's in the picture are carrying missiles on both wings...

Not sure about the relevance of that random H-6 picture with previous discussion either, but ok.

Does anyone knows what with that H-6 around ??? Either its a psed photo  or a strage testbed  with features from the older types as well as the K-model (engine exhausts seem to be larger, 6 pylons, ...) but is that an IFR-probe ??? :p

Besides that for those who might be interested ... my latest PLAAF/PLANAF-report on the bomber force in the Combat AIrcrfat Monthly:

And as usually, critics are wellcome-

could it be an upgrade of a H-6M ? either that or its a PS using a H-6M as a base by looking at the red ring at intake mouth ... if not it could be an increase to 6 pylons, replace nose, in flight refuel to make up for less fuel space and engines

So I've been trying to piece together an OOB for PLAAF. This is what I have in regards to bombers (i.e. H-6/H-5), any comments?

36th Bomber Division (Wugong)
- 107th Av Rgt (Lintong), H-6E
- 108th Av Rgt (Wugong), H-6M

10th Bomber Division (Anqing)
- 28th Av Rgt (Anqing), H-6H
- 29th Av Rgt (Nanjing-Dajiaochang), HD-5 (EW)
- 30th Av Rgt (Anqing), H-6E

8th Bomber Division (Leiyang)
- 22nd Av Rgt (Shaoyang), H-6
- 23rd Av Rgt (Leiyang), HY-6 (tankers)
- 24th Av Rgt ??, H-6

-----------------------------------

I'm especially unsure about the 8th. I know at some point 144th Regt transferred into it, but I'm unsure if my listed structure is post- or pre- that. Basically, I get a lot of different stuff from different sources. I also found it really hard to find good, updated OOBs for the bomber divisions...if anyone can help, it would be great.
