These bombers look so ancient. While PLA has made great strides recently like sexy looking birds, it really is lagging behind in terms of bomber force. Any new updates on its replacement?
The H-6K is very interesting but as a Tu-22M - H-6 less big - only an medium Bomber and only USA and Russia have Strategics since very long time only coutries to have coz very expensive also...

BTW no Strategics as able to cross Pacific* only Atlantic* or by the Groenland the max CR without refueling with an medium payload for them is btw 5500 - 7300 km and sure Russians have so few Il-78 or only for some Bombers.

*US AB to China a little in interiot 12000 km...
** " " to Ural 9000 km by Atlantic, Greeland 8000 / 9000

With AGM-86 by Greeland B-52H can Attack Russians targets, big... 7200 + 1100/2400 dépends variants nuclear LACMs have always a more big range coz the nuclear warhead is more small and more fuel disponible.

B-52's first flight was 65 years ago. And the project started just a year after WWII finished. Of course, it mutated (a lot) in these years, but reality shows that the BLUFF has at least six and a half decades.
You can say the same about the H6, the K version is mostly a new plane compared with the first batch of Badgers.

Yes and B-52H Fleet is very modernised with a big readiness recent videos show during alert excercise more than 10 B-52H to take off from Minot or Barksdale ! impressive for a daddy :)

ancient bomber design of the1950s have a unique advantage: economic performance on long range high altitude subsonic cruise. Cheap to maintain, fly, and long service life. If you wanna use SDBs by direct aiming, you'd better get a stealthy flying wing; while if you wanna fire some big missile 1000km away, these old designs are the best choice.

Don' t need vs countries with a low AA Defense a Stealth a " normal " can do the job with bombs vs 3/4 + of countries the main advantage with bombing missions bombs are much less expensives, much more big stocks and the weapons load transported by the Bomber is more powerful than some missiles, more lethal.

well if you don't need to worry about AA, then the ancient bomber is the overall best choice

But the Chinese Air Force added a "novelty" - the bombers did not fly alone and were accompanied by an ELINT Y-8CB plane , also called GX-1, and a long-range electronic interference aircraft Y-8G (GX-3) during this release which took place this Thursday, July 20th.

The Japanese army has dispatched several fighter planes to intercept Chinese aircraft.

gives more details on the route of Chinese aircraft around Taiwan.

A first four-H-6K air group departed from the Anqing base of the 10th Division and crossed Miyako Strait, while a second group of four other bombers and the two electronic warplanes departed from the south of China and entered the Pacific Ocean through Bashi Strait, between the Philippines and Taiwan, before returning to the mainland through the Miyako Strait.

Both groups therefore made a complete tour of Taiwan in both clockwise directions.

It should be noted that the Chinese Air Force blog also published two photographs on the H-6K bombers that participated in this "training campaign", with only "Standardization! Repeated three times.

It is customary in China to say that the important things must be repeated three times in succession. It is therefore understandable that the number of such maneuvers, to leave the first chain of islands and enter the Pacific Ocean, and incidentally to fly around the island of Taiwan, will be increased gradually and regularly.

Everybody knows Guam is the target so of course they will do it regularly. Otherwise why build this aircraft and KD 20
