well I was about 13 or 14 years old when I saw the pic, and not nesserically that aware of Soviet project designation system
And I belive it was Weyers last or seccond edition that mentioned ship like that, but it didn't list any project number (thougth the book is at the moment on loan to my brother so I cannot check it)

OK Golly, you are quite right that the ancestry of this ship is linked to 1166 offer to Vietnam. This one hasn't got a project number, just a functional abbreviation - SRK - Storozhevoi Raketny Korablj - Missile Patrol Ship.
Anyway, you are welcome to post next something

i don't. wheeled vehicle is not my strong suit to begin with, and to me, this particular sample have both eastern european and south african characteristics. i just thought others might have some thoughts even if they don't know the answer out right.
