Guys,

Need your professional opinion.
Need your best estimate of PLAN's fleet circa 2020. Include all major and minor vessels if possible.

In service by 2020, my guess:

Corvettes:
~60 056/As

Frigates:
>24 054As (possibly 30+ 054As, but it's also possible some of those will be 054Bs)
2 054s
Some number of older 053H3s still in service as well

DDGs (aegis-type):
2-3 055s (with more in sea trial/fitting out/launched/under construction at that time as well)
>12 052Ds (probably more, maybe up to 18)
6 052Cs

DDGs (non aegis-type):
4 Sovs
2 051Cs
1 051B
2 052Bs
2 052s
(all 051s likely to be retired by 2020)


other ships like 022 FACs will probably still be in service as well... and there are of course non surface combatants that aren't listed.

This picture made from someone by cjdby is also what I consider to be a fairly likely presentation, but they also include things like CV, LPD, LHD, AOE, SSN, new SSKs as well. Weirdly enough LSTs and AORs (903/A class) aren't included, but I suppose that would make it too cluttered.

LOL 4 054Bs by 2020? That's pretty optimistic given we don't even know there is such a ship currently in the works.

There have been enough consistent rumours from reliable sources for us to say such a ship is in the works.

But I agree that four in service by 2020s is probably unlikely, especially if that is also meant to be accompanied by 32 054As in service preceding them.

Even one in service by 2020 is unlikely unless it can start building by next year, and what are the rumors for that? For the first 054 it took almost a year to build and launch and two more to commission. With a ship as complex as the 054B will probably be, the lead ships will take at least as long from build to commission if not likely longer.
