I think this is a good case where perhaps the civil-mil fusion can take the lead and create a business case before military vendors can take a proven design and stack some armor and weapons. I imagine there are extremities in the BRI project that a large VTOL / V-44can work.

I'd love to see this concept on a 075... a troop transport and/or gunship of sorts

It might be my imagination, but I suspect some rollover safety issues experienced during the birth of V-22 program could be mitigated by the the V-44.

Perhaps the pair in the back can be used to sustain thrust, and continue to leverage the wings for life until the conversion to level flight is complete.
