U.S. likely to tighten tech curbs as China advances chip production

:D

The fact is the United States wanted to ban all the necessary equipment that Western companies can sell to China, in order to keep China at a certain node or very far behind in chip fabrication.

That node, I really forget. It was either 28nm or 14nm, the article said 14nm, but I always believe that China even at 28nm was too much for the descendants of Doctor Strangelove could handle.

Lo and behold, the reality is 7nm in volume production. All the finer nodes of 5nm and 3nm, in the world today, all going into strategic sectors like consumer electronics, like cell phones and laptops. It is strategic because then the Biden family can watch better quality porno with more advanced chips in their laptops. Frivolous shit, like server cluters, AI research, weapons systems, rocketry, supercomputers, that will have to wait.

So, they wrote a fairly long article.

What exactly are they going to ban?

The bans were in place to prevent the Chinese from reaching beyond 14nm or 28nm.

Since the Chinese already at 7nm in mass production, then the bans must be applied to the 5nm or 3nm levels.

Then why did the article not mention, that already has a ban in place?

They wrote an entire article telling us another ban is coming.

This time they will ban it further so that Huawei cannot go beyond 7nm, even thought they already banned the EUV.

That is essentially what this article is saying.

They will ban the EUV to China a second time.

What are we going to do now?

I don't know. Got to think of something. In the meantime, take some precaution. Just don't shit yourself, if you happen to laugh too hard when drinking.

Time to ban 0nm, -3nm, -5nm and beyond.
Keep China stuck at positive dimensions, while the Free World™ progresses to negative space.
