Its the classic post a Chinese thing but say its Japanese and see westerners be in awe.
Say its Chinese, you will be in awe how westerners now hate it...
To the west, Japan is like a pet. Japan was also hated by the west not too long ago, back when it could stand up for itself. To be hated by the incumbent hegemon is not a bad thing. In fact, it is something to be proud of.
