South Korean nationalist: China stealing our culture! Our culture is unique, and can't be found in China!!!
Seriously though, I don't understand why they have this behavior. Like every time someone points out their traditional culture is influenced by China, they start acting out like this. Like yes, there are differences and some cultural elements unique to South Korea, stop being damn insecure about it.
The Koeran culture is in some way a copy of the Chinese one. Koreans once proudly considered their nation a "smaller China" after the Qing dynasty succeeded the Ming.
But many right wing S. Koreans do not like this fact. In addition to being arrogant, they hate communism. They hate Chinese for helping the N. Korea. They want to get rid of everything in their life that are associated with China. So they have to try to modify the history.
Are they alright? It sounds like they are having a mid life crisis lmao
But yeah, I wish they eventually find a way to make peace with the fact that they have Chinese influences in their culture. Instead of going historical revisionism mode like "ackshually, Confucius is Korean" or deciding to boycott using chopsticks because it originated from China.
They are not alright, tbh I think they might actually head to societal collapse (and that's without war).
Like their avg births per woman is 0.8 or something and I truly think there's like 0% chance it's gonna rise above 1 this decade, so that's gonna be an actual demographic collapse (chances are also there's gonna be a big amount of migration of younger people).
As for their problems, there's quite a lot of videos on it on say bilibili (such as religion, sex, politics, economy etc.).
What I found interesting the most is how hostile they are against feminism and LGBT for a country supposedly "westernized". I read somewhere that around 50% of males in the country, openly hates Feminism, and the reason why the Conservative president won is because of the young voters blaming all the societal problems to feminism.
Anyways this is getting a bit too serious for the funny thread, so I'll just leave a Bad China Take tweet.
