For the 2018 Euronaval exhibition, Naval Group imagines future threats, needs and constraints and presents its latest concept ship. To meet the operational needs of the next decades, the design of future submarines requires anticipation and innovation, says the French shipbuilder.

French Company Hutchinson presents STRACTIVE an active noise and vibration control system for submarines and ships at Euronaval 2018, the International Maritime and Naval Defense Exhibition in Paris, France. The STRACTIVE is fully developed and designed by Hutchinson to reduce noise and vibration aboard submarines and ships.

Nexter from France will provide Griffon and Jaguar armored vehicles to Belgian army



The Belgian Council of Ministers of October 25, 2018 approved the signing of an intergovernmental agreement with France concerning the establishment of a strategic partnership in the field of land mobility under the CaMo program. French Company will deliver 382 6x6 multi-role wheeled armored vehicles (VBMR) and 60 6x6 wheeled armored reconnaissance and combat vehicles to the Belgian army.

ECA Group wins new 12M€ order for Suffren-class submarine equipment



At the occasion of EURONAVAL 2018, Naval Group and ECA Group signed the letter of intent for a contract worth more than € 12 million for the supply of equipment (electric propulsion and variable speed drives), as well as associated spare parts, for submarines 5 and 6 of the program, led by French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA). The contract will run for 53-month period and will end in 2023.

The French Navy future logistic vessels (FLOTLOG program) are likely to be fitted with both naval gun and missile systems. Several companies are showcasing their solutions at this week's Euronaval show, hoping to be selected and to get aboard the future FLOTLOG ships.

French Army clears MMP 5th generation land combat missile for desert operations



From August 25 to September 22 in Djibouti, the French Army Technical Service (STAT), the French DGA (Direction Générale de l’Armement), with the support of MBDA the projects main contractor successfully conducted evaluation of the Missile Moyenne Portée (Medium-Range Missile, or MMP) 5th generation land combat missile system to operate in a semi-desert environment like seen in most African and Middle Eastern environment.

For this purpose, nine firings were successfully carried out, all missiles hitting their targets. The successful firing confirms the reliability of the weapon system in a hot environment as well as its performance in operational firing scenarios. Furthermore, naval personnel from the Commando Regiment also conducted two test fires aboard a Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boat ECUME (Embarcation Commando à Usage Multiple Embarquable) – embarked multi-purpose commando boat.
