...amazing. One would think (an they probably did) that the US consulted with and helped in this.

Could be wrong, but I doubt there's significant US input, Dassault and the French military industrial complex likes to export their stuff, having some US committee um and ah over whether they can or can't sell it to some one else, isn't their way.

I did not envision that type of input. This would have been more at the corporate level between Dassault and Grumman and involved technical consultations where certain levels of technology were passed and consulted upon if requested.

Watch the videos of the two aircraft, the resemblance between the two aircraft is IMHO well beyond happen chance. The French aircraft, for all the world, looks like the next prototype launch from Grumman.

Skat...did just that. According to reports,

"General Director of RSK "MiG" Sergei Korotkov said to the press earlier, the development of Skat was discontinued. By the decision of Russian Defence Ministry Sukhoi Holding became the new Head Developer of the Strike UCAV project"

It never flew, just a static tech demonstrator. Perhaps an "SU" version will fly some day.

The French however have flown theirs and it is a "spitting image" of the X-47B.

Pretty amazing, and as I said earlier, almost to the point of looking like the next prototype model coming off the US line.

I think all of the flying wing UCAVs under development look alike... I mean there is only so much variation you can have for different planes that essentially have similar functions if not parameters to work with.

X-47B, neuron, skat, taranis, the as of yet unnamed chinese ucav, and that indian one... along with other cancelled US flying wing UCAV proposals
