BTW, some women in the military can also be flirtatious thereby inviting "trouble". I don't mind being called an old fashioned chauvinistic pig etc. if this means I believe in the morale, efficiency and effectiveness of any Armed Forces, without the unnecessary "distractions". In a "conservative" country like China, male and female soldiers are mostly in separate unites, not mixed. Females are still kept away from direct combat except fighter pilots.

In most places (for now) men and women visit different bathrooms, so why mix them in military if one ignore the political ideology.

Instead of "old fashioned chauvinistic pig", I think you are a "cool headed gentleman".:)

I can see and understand from your POV, but what about combat units that needs a female soldier to do pat downs on overseas locals? In some culture and practices it seen as demeaning when a male soldier does pat downs and checking for weapons in a house to house search on the local women. This is where the US Army and Marines learned from the Middle East campaign. A female soldier attaching to the combat units can do not only translation, but medical check upon the injured or needed medical attention on the local women.

Looks like to me someone photoshopped a long ponytail on this pilot. I know in the USN she would have to have all that hair under her helmet. That hair would be a safety hazard in flight.
