My point directed at those persons that maybe lurking here thinking of joining the USN is that not all jobs are spectacular. Some are just jobs that have to be done! And when you are a newbie abroad ship expect the mundane and routine...but that will change in time Padawan..that will change....

Just like most jobs there are good days, bad days and really bad days but if you still have your all your digits left at the end of the day it means you have a good day.

People joined for many reasons. I know in the enlisted ranks a lot of kids signed up to escaped their environment which is a good thing. Many came from dysfunctional homes or gang infested life before.

SAN DIEGO (Sept. 25, 2013) Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Brad Woodard, assigned to the U.S. Navy parachute demonstration team, the Leap Frogs, jumps from a C-2A Greyhound aircraft from the Providers of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 30 during parachute jump training.
