Not everyone serving with the US navy works in CIC, PRI Fly, The flight deck or is a pilot etc.. etc..Not every job is glamorous and exciting.
CORAL SEA (Aug. 2, 2013) The Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Wally Schirra (T-AKE 8), left, the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Yukon (T-AO 202) and the amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9) transit the Coral Sea ahead of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) during an underway replenishment. Bonhomme Richard is the flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU), is participating in Talisman Saber 2013, a biennial exercise that enhances multilateral collaboration between U.S. and Australian forces for future combined operations, humanitarian assistance and natural disaster response. GULF OF MEXICO (Aug. 1, 2013) F/A-18 Hornets from the U.S. Navy flight demonstration squadron, the Blue Angels, fly over the littoral combat ship Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Coronado (LCS 4) during a training flight over the Gulf of Mexico. While the Blue Angels' 2013 air show season has been canceled due to sequestration, the pilots fly sorties to maintain proficiency in the F/A-18 Hornet. PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 5, 2013) A landing craft air cushion (LCAC) from Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5 prepares to disembark the well deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18). New Orleans is underway as part of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) off the coast of Southern California completing a certification exercise (CERTEX). CERTEX is the final evaluation of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (13th MEU) and Boxer ARG prior to deployment and is intended to certify their readiness to conduct integrated missions across the full spectrum of military operations.
