Otoh 'caterpillar' drive is not exactly in the realm of science fiction anymore. As a matter a fact it's doable these days though I'm sure that rendition is not realistic at all.

Magneto Hydrodynamic 'caterpillar' drive was trialed by Mitsubishi Heavy industries of Japan back in the 1990's. problem is it's slower then was wanted.

A little CG movie make by a military enthusiast with video game engine Lock On.
The story line: A Y-12 doing patrol over Diaoyu islands area and got harassed by the JDF F-15 and ordered to leave immediately, when the Y-12 ignored the warning and radio in for support, the F-15s trying to force down the Y-12 to Okinawa air force base. And then two J-15 arrive just in time and all hell breaks loose. Don't take it too seriously just look at it as game action.
