inside:
there's statement which sounds odd to me:
"Each
will be able to carry two Meteor missiles and two air/ground weapons in the internal weapons bay for
missions requiring stealth capabilities (first day of conflict scenario)."
(I highlighted the part which I didn't get; is there some special meaning of
first day above? perhaps 'figurative' or 'metaphorical' meaning? I mean what if there was 'a prolonged' conflict?)
any comments?
Brother seeing you online you're sure able to explain this to me
why 'stealth capabilities' wouldn't be needed on the second day, too? LOL
Yes, first day is indeed a metaphor describing the very hostile air environment before most air defenses are neutralized or destroyed. F-22's or F-35's, B-2's are first day weapons, the idea being that after the first day, you would have "knocked out" most SAM sights, Fighter aircraft,, blah, blah, blah. That's why I am a very strong proponent of the fifth generation aircraft, without L/O, you are simply "dead meat".
F-15s, Flankers, Mig-29s, J-10s, J-15s, F-18s, F-16s, Typhoons, Rafales, go on down the list, but they would suffer extremely heavy losses,,thats why the Chinese are building the J-20 and the Russians the T-50, hoping to reduce the radar signatures that will get you "dead" or "deader than dead".
So first day describes those air-ops in that deadly environment that must be sanitized in order for our follow on four gens, to then come in and assist with the heavy lifting. Second day air ops, which should be much safer, with just the odd mobile launcher?? or something surviving "first day" attacks is also a metaphor describing a "scrubbed" or cleaner air environment, where the threat has been minimized.
