Let’s Talk About Those F-35 Kill Ratio Reports From Red Flag
15 kills per loss sounds impressive, but there’s always more to the story.
goes on in the subsequent post due to size limit; source:
Our boy Ty should really re-name his little blog the "pessimist", with an anecdotal "15 to 1" kill ratio, big boys and girls should be able to figure out that the F-35 is doing very well in the first week or so of "Red Flag"?? then our boy beats on Red Flag itself??? and calls it controversial??
Theres nothing controversial about Red Flag, it is highly effective in training and preparing our Air Force, fellow services, and allies in the art and science of aerial warfare and winning engagement, rather than losing aircraft and pilots. He goes back to the Indians and their SU-30 MKI. Nothing controversial or surprising about that, people don't always like the results of their testing, most work to get better next time after getting the "picture?
The F-35 is not a perfect airplane, it does in fact still suffer from very early program "mismanagement", it did in fact require numerous mods to fix some early fatigue failure/cracking specifically a major titanium bulkhead on the B, was replaced with an aluminum bulkhead to save weight, not a smart move. Like "ALL" aircraft?? "and most attractive women", she did gain weight and needed to work out to get herself "squared away!"..
I has become a "mark of a true journo" to play "Woodward and Bernstein" and beat on "govt spending, waste, programs like the LCS, and the FORD, and make us all look "smarter than smart"??
The cancelation of the F-22, (the most ignorant hit job of all time), is the "blood in the water", that continues to draw the "sharks", the end result of all this hyper-critical reporting is a skeptical public, and a body politic, that loves to wallow around in the blood stained innards and proclaim themselves, "champions of the people"!
The real result is very expensive programs to build a relative few very good aircraft? ships? tanks?? in other words we are much less capable of defending ourselves or helping our allies, and far more vulnerable to oppressive regimes which build their weapons of warfare on the backs of their people, who have to settle for a sub-standard living, and their individual freedoms being taken away!
So "come on Tyler", all this negative krap just shuts down the flow of information for all of us, because nobody dares give you any "inside baseball info", cause you'll take advantage of the privledge, and criticize your friends who "put you in the know in the first place"??
Fair and Balanced really isn't to much to expect is it, just give the F-35 Program lead Chris Bogdan a smidgen of credit, for saving this program, and building a "damn fine airplane", yes its expensive, yes its complicated, yes, its going to take some time to "mature" this aircraft. God Bless the US Marines, and the USAF for jumping in with both feet to assure the integration and success of the F-35, and the security of each of us, who are dependant on airpower to maintain our freedom and security.
Way to go F-35 Teams, and way to go Red Flag, thanks to all of you for your hard work and dedication to excellence, and putting your expertise to work to build and fly the most important aircraft of the 21st Century, we can't do it, without YOU!
