It is a good Joint Strike Fighter Aircraft alright, but expensive. There are other alternatives to choose for developing nations who could ill afford the F35. The arms race is building up in Asia spurred by the US and other major countries. Sad, as the money could be better used for the poor and deprived people in many countries. The 4 men of the "Acopolypse" may be riding soon if leaders are blinded by power.

No, there really aren't any alternatives, if Donald Trump is as smart as he professes, he will know that shortly??? ,,,, but, folks who think they know it all are hard to educate. The JSF is very expensive, but worth it, when the costs come down, (and they will now that somebody is talking Turkey), we will invest the resources to bring this bird quickly to its B+ game, and continue to work to get to the A+ level, that will take maturity, and time.
With greedy folks aggressively grabbing land and resources, only a strong defense will protect the people from the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse. in fact click on you-tube and check out the 4 Horsemen, flying the C-130A in the militarys first and last precision large aircraft team!
Those guys were at Pope AFB, and Sewart AFB, two very important places to the old Brat.
Oh, and its really not fair to blame China's military build up on the US, for the last 20 years we have been "drawing down our military" in an effort to feed people, and preserve the peace! Sadly that good faith effort has resulted in the world being a far more dangerous place.
I fully agree that the F35 is a fantastic aircraft & quality doesn't come cheap .... Trump knows this as he is a seasoned businessman negotiating for a better price, so will others follow his example 
Let's give Trump's Administration a chance to clearly establish and implement its policies on Economic (trade, investments) Security & Geo-politics. We hope for the best, but if the US becomes negative on trade globalisation and choose to be protectionist, China and the other Asian countries have to look after their own interests together with the others (EU, UK, ME, Africa etc.).

Well Youngun, how do you think us young upstarts have maintained the peace and the nation for 200+ years. While coming from a former Soviet Satelite Republic? I'm sure in the 14 years you spent here in the states, you realized the liberal left, (uber socialists and quasi communists) have their heads so far up their rear ends that they really don't give a Krap about maintaining our military at sufficient strength to defend this nation, or our very good friends (among whom you stand proudly).
They don't mind throwing mine and your money don't a rat-hole, (think Obama-care), nobody in this country was not treated at hospitals in 2008, but now they may not be?? I lost my Hospice job as a direct result of Obama-care and their re-write and cutting of reimbursements for Hospice Services??
and where in Europe? is the US projecting power to-night my Son? we wouldn't be their if there wasn't a credible threat. So yes the F-35 is EXPENSIVE! How many times do I have to repeat myself, and WORTH every dime! Freedom isn't free, better to pay in Greenbacks than BLOOD! yeah it really is, I have two sons-in-law in the Army, I have one future son-in-law in the Army and one in the Marines! I expect my boys to have "Air Support!", and I'm gonna give it to em!
now, look into my Daddies eyes, he was flying a very expensive Lockheed Aircraft product, (MC-130E), the first aircraft to carry 400lbs of stealth coating, and it did work, they took that thing to some very nasty places! and they all came back but one, and he flew the airplane into a mountain, or maybe that fancy terrain following radar out of an F-111 did, the C-130 did not have the climb performance the radar was calibrated for???
tell him the F-22 or the F-35 are too expensive, yes they are, but money is cheap, lives are not!

expensive is OK with me but I tried to bring up this: 'they' (the Pentagon, LockMart through their journalists) are right now trying to make an impression F-35 is 'getting cheap', and they do so by simply not quoting the full cost; will give just one example which is the first sentence from
"The U.S. Department of Defense and Lockheed Martin Corp are close to deal for a contract worth almost $9 billion as negotiations are poised to bring the price per F-35 below $100 million for the first time, people familiar with the talks said Wednesday."
