Ethnic Conflict in Northeast India

Unconfirmed reports of drone strikes on Indian insurgent groups inside Myanmar.

The ULFA(I), in a press statement, said the attacks were carried out by Indian Army with drones in the early hours at several mobile camps. A senior leader of the proscribed outfit was killed in the attacks, while around 19 others were injured, it claimed. Whereas Indian Army sources say that no such operation was carried out.

Strike location was between Longwa- 26.6623° N, 95.2199° E (Nagaland–Myanmar border) and Pangsu Pass- 27.2500° N, 96.1667° E (Arunachal Pradesh–Myanmar border) where Nayan Medhi was killed and 23 were injured. Falls under Sagaing division of Myanmar.

The drone package was allegedly composed of Israeli and European origin.
