Right now, the PLAN is more or less sufficent for costal defence but is not powerful enough to dominate the eastern Pacific, which is truly necessary to defend China. As China's economy is now integrated with the worlds, simply denying China use of the seas around it may be as big of a blow as an invasion.

You are correct on that. That's how the US Navy dominates the world's oceans. They force any potential enemy to fight a LONG way from American territory. Americans prefer to fight in YOUR backyard because in any case it's YOUR backyard that get's destroyed.

One more of these and you will get officical warning!!!

The dumb peoples of the world think Americans are imperialists. They are just too stupid to realize that Americans don't want the inconvenience of fighting inside America's house when it's better to take the fight to the enemy's house (definitely to the enemy's coast at least).

The fact that fighting a war away from your own soil keeps it safer does not necessarily mean that imperialism is not a factor. Anyways, this is not the direction we want this thread going in, so keep discussion related to strategy and technical aspects of Chinese East Coast Defenses.

And, keep gratuitous "dumb people" comments to a minimum.
